about

Things So High and Strange was designed to be an immersive experience; conceived and choreographed by Chris Black with music by Erik Pearson. It was performed in the round, with live music, and the audience could see one another across the dancing space. The movement was drawn from many heavenly bodies and creatures: birds, planes, moons. During the live performances, the audience could feel the reverberations of the bass drums travel up through their chairs, and the breeze of the dancers as they swooped past. The title is taken from Paradise Lost:
"Eve
The story heard attentive, and was filled
With admiration, and deep muse, to hear
Of things so high and strange.”
