about

This piece was inspired by reading Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities which centers around Marco Polo describing Venice kaleidoscopically to the the fading emperor. I wrote the music in the spring of 1988 in Vienna/Modling Austria and it was performed the following year. Recorded May 8, 1989.
