about

At the Fog Line (Clayton St, Ashbury Heights) is the second movement from Inner Postcards from San Francisco. This piece references a flat I used to live in that was just at the line where the afternoon fog stopped and the sun began. Almost every day you could sit on the stoop and watch the fog get closer, and closer, and closer, and then stop. So close that you could see the edges of the fog like a roiling wall. It was like a moving painting in grey brushstrokes.
