about

another pandemic remix of an old recording Sonya and I did. A song about the paradox of being an aging rocker- singing of the craziness of youth, when in reality you spent your actual youth not partying but practicing an instrument and dreaming of the future. A 2 way mirror.

lyrics

Dirty and Tired:
caught in the afterglow
never-ending night
thousands of feet below-
I see a boy
caught in a dream
with open arms
he strums and screams.
There's a guitar,
an empty book,
he'll close his eyes
and try to look

to see the man
who watches him now
nodding off,
head inside a cloud
dirty and tired
stuck on the bus
cold, cramped, and bored
with rock and roll,
singing of the child
that might have been
if you were wise
and let him in
when there were dreams.

Dirty and Tired:
the day begins
the sun inspires
the earth to spin.
Below/Above
there is a man
who longs to feel
a world again
where there are dreams.
